A nondescript package 
arrived one day 
when the earth felt 
like it had stopped moving
and a continuous chill 
ran from my spine 
to the center of my chest 
breathing became a bore
without intention 
or respect
to slip away 
from coast to coast
shore to shore
would have been 
more than an effort 
time worthy energy spent
but here before me
a simple wrapping
revealing secrets 
sweet love affair
silver and gold 
lightening circles 
around and around 
sparks shooting 
memories 
across the sky 
flooding questions
who are you 
and who am I
prompting such 
sentimental remembrance
when time passes by
