Turning slowly
Eyes meet
Lock in an embrace
The words in my mind
Fall from your lips
Like pearls of wisdom
Dripping in sultry shades
Of day dreams
Soft lavender
With a touch of grey
Highlighting the shadows
That dance to and fro
Gentle lullaby
“Hush baby
Please don’t cry…”
Without warning
Shooting stars fall
The soul is cloaked
In a plush velvet robe
Blanketed gently by a pure
Winter snow
Covering what has yet to be seen
Magnified by a sharp pain
Like a dagger to the heart
Carving away
Silently

my confidant
lover
the one 
that would 
hold me close 
when the wind 
doesn't blow 
the one 
that would keep 
the sails full 
even though 
all odds 
are against us 
and when 
the shadows 
from a dark past 
come to surface
you alone would
illuminate my senses
clearing the fog
bringing sanity 
back to port
safe haven in love
and wisdom
I wish you 
had a vantage point 
beyond what is seen 
from a flat line 
spaces never exist 
unless we 
create them

knew now

sway

the distance and time 
remain the same
for me...
I often wonder about you
I often dream about you
never completely
sub-level mind
bend
unable to 
let go
...of
long talks
hand in hand 
slow walk 
from your car 
to mine
dock side 
harbor lights 
soften the moments
still frame 
halo glow 
surrounds 
that first kiss 
tender words 
spoken
your  fingers 
entwined
with mine
you turn
smile wide
looking back
I never truly walked 
away
time...and 
circumstance 
the depth 
of our romance
we will never know
